Two years ago today, I started this blog. I’ve felt a shade pessimistic lately about its ongoing purpose, and about my own erratic attempts to make it a place on the web that’s worth visiting. Re-reading some of your past comments, however, has heartened me, and reminded me why I am here: the EDM community which led me to create this online presence in the first place has been responsible for so much supportive, appreciative and thoughtful interaction with fellow painters and sketchers over these two years that I would be foolish indeed to abandon the one virtual corner where I know I can open not only my sketchbook, but – if I need to – my heart.
Yesterday’s sketch for “(Almost) Every Day in February” was done between finishing work and collecting my daughter from daycare. I’m getting used to the idea, now, of sketching more freely and rapidly; of letting my pen take all the detours it needs in order to reach an approximation of what’s in front of me, without fear of mistakes. The previous day’s scribbles can be seen on my Flickr.
Joyeux blogiversaire!

Happy Blogaversary!I am in awe over your resolve to draw everyday. As a mom myself I was struggling right along with you when reading your previous post and wondering ‘how does she do it?’ Your drawings are wonderful, thanks for sharing them along with your thoughts.

OMG, I didn’t know you had a little one! They are great but they do take a lot of time and thought. I believe I lost most of my braincells when I had my son. I’m still trying to grow them back and he is turning 11 in march. Hang in there and please do continue contributing, I’ve always enjoyed your work!

Happy B’day, EJ. The sketch is yummy. Just like the fairy cakes, cheese and pineapple on sticks and the rabbit shaped blancmange.

Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary! I must admit to feeling a bit of ‘blog fatigue’ lately and I’ve only been going since last September! But don’t be downhearted – I’ve really enjoyed your daily sketches:)

Been away since Thurs so only just noted your 2nd anniversary. Congrats. Keep going for your blog is so unique I am delighted when I see you have created a new post…and I think the same goes for many others. Such a mix of family matters, travels, local scenes and events with delightful sketches and photos.
